Terms of Service
These terms describe the baseline rules for using Magnus as an academic study and course workspace.

This page is a working product policy template for Magnus. It should be reviewed by the school, institution, or legal owner before production use.
1. Using Magnus
Magnus is an academic study workspace for students, teachers, administrators, and approved institutional users. The service supports course materials, PDF study, lesson-grounded AI assistance, generated practice, quizzes, flashcards, notes, and related learning workflows.
You may use Magnus only for lawful academic, instructional, administrative, and study purposes. Your institution may set additional acceptable-use, conduct, records, or data policies that also apply to your account.
2. Accounts and access
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account. Notify your institution or Magnus administrator if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Access may depend on an active institutional relationship, assigned role, roster membership, or administrator approval. Magnus may restrict or remove access when required for security, policy compliance, or account administration.
3. User content and course materials
You retain responsibility for the files, prompts, notes, messages, answers, and other content you submit to Magnus. You should upload or enter only content that you have the right to use in an academic workspace.
By submitting content, you allow Magnus to process, store, display, analyze, and transmit that content as needed to provide the service, including study tools, AI responses, document search, and classroom workflows.
4. AI-assisted study features
Magnus may generate summaries, explanations, translations, questions, flashcards, quiz items, and other AI-assisted outputs from course or document context. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for high-stakes decisions.
You should review generated output before relying on it, especially for assessments, grades, official records, medical, legal, financial, or safety-related decisions. Teachers and administrators remain responsible for instructional judgment and final review.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Magnus to break the law, violate academic integrity rules, infringe intellectual property rights, compromise security, harass others, upload malicious code, scrape the service, reverse engineer protected systems, or interfere with other users.
Do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the academic workflow and permitted by your institution. Magnus is not intended for emergency communication or time-critical safety reporting.
6. Service changes and availability
Magnus may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, infrastructure issues, provider outages, or security events.
Where practical, institutions should keep independent copies of critical academic records and materials that must remain available outside Magnus.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Magnus is provided for academic support and administrative workflows. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free output, or fitness for a particular academic result.
To the extent permitted by law, Magnus and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
8. Updates and contact
These terms may be updated as Magnus changes or as institutional requirements evolve. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply.
